Sarah Hurteau

Resilient Cities Program Director

Over the past sixteen years, Sarah has worked as a conservation ecologist finding pragmatic solutions to a wide variety of environmental issues, most recently focused on climate adaptation and urban sustainability. Her guiding principles are to use science-based strategies to inform work at the nexus of research, policy, and management. Sarah translates scientific knowledge into actionable steps making it more accessible to managers and policy makers. Trained as a wildlife biologist, she always sees projects through a habitat lens, allowing her to integrate across disciplines to create holistic solutions to the complex problems we face today. Sarah has a BS in Wildlife, Fish and Conservation Biology from the University of California, Davis and a MS in Environmental Science and Policy from Northern Arizona University. In her off time, Sarah loves to explore the natural world near and far, and dedicates as much time as she can volunteering on local issues near to her heart.
