About the Initiative

The Wildlife Information Network (WIN) is a national collaborative initiative to make authoritative wildlife data and information more accessible for practitioners. Co-founded by NatureServe and SIG-NAL ED Zack Wurtzebach, the WIN is envisioned as a secure, federated network that connects authoritative biodiversity information across organizations while respecting institutional data sovereignty. By improving how trusted data are discovered and used, the WIN aims to speed regulatory review and inform strategic, collaborative, and voluntary wildlife conservation across the United States. The result will be a shared, credible foundation for decisions that affect wildlife, working lands, and public trust—built by partners, for partners, and grounded in best-available science
