KaiGeoCon is an initiative selected as one of 12 finalists by Conservation X Labs for its potential to transform how communities prepare for and manage wildfire risk. The initiative provides geospatial technology consulting and hands-on training to support wildfire resilience and complex landscape management. KaiGeoCon integrates advanced remote sensing tools, such as drone (UAS) imagery, high-precision field data collection using RTK GPS, and GIS analysis to help land managers better understand, plan, and adapt their work on the ground. KaiGeoCon supports state and county wildfire agencies and private organizations responsible for managing high-value open space lands by improving situational awareness and strengthening adaptive management to reduce wildfire hazards and risk. While initially developed for wildfire resilience, KaiGeoCon is adaptable to other conservation priorities, including biodiversity conservation and water resource management.
