About the Partnership

Across the globe, governments and private-sector actors are committing to reducing forest loss and expanding restoration to address climate change, conserve biodiversity, and sustain the vital social benefits that forests provide. Achieving these commitments, however, requires reliable information and coordinated action across complex supply chains. The Forest Data Partnership supports this effort by bringing partners together to strengthen forest monitoring and traceability, improve transparency in commodity production, and accelerate restoration. SERVIR West Africa works closely with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and national partners to build capacity in data collection and interpretation for strengthened national forest monitoring systems.
